Student Sport Development Officers

Through the Volunteer Zambia project the Wallace Group is supporting a partnership between Sport In Action, the National Sports Federations and Sports Associations to develop a network of Community Sport Hub Sites across the whole of Zambia.

Students are recruited each year to perform the role of Student Sport Development Officer across the key sports (netball, basketball, women’s football, football).

The role involves working in different capacities as Student Sport Outreach Officers, Sport-Specific Activators/Coach Educators and Coach/Official Educators, with students placed at various hub sites for the duration of their time in Zambia.

Media, Marketing & Communications Officers 

Each year three students are recruited from across the Wallace Group universities to take on the role of Media, Marketing & Communications Officer within each group of the Volunteer Zambia project.

Each Media Officer spends 6 weeks in Zambia helping to promote news and activity from across the project, highlight the work of Sport in Action and our charity the Perfect Day Foundation.
