From our experience in Zambia over the last 15 years, we recognise that to ensure greatest impact the structures and practices we build must be sustainable and that any new developments build upon existing initiatives and are shaped by local stakeholders.
Over the last 10 years the Wallace Group has been committed to supporting Sport in Action to deliver sustainable sport programmes by building capacity within local communities.
We do this by helping to develop and maintain facilities and services within hub sites, whilst supporting a workforce development pathway to increase participation and provide sustainable sport opportunities for all.
Facility development
The Wallace Group has funded several capital development projects in Zambia since 2006, which have helped Sport in Action to provide permanent sports facilities in Zambian communities which would otherwise never have access to them.
All the facilities supported are managed by Sport in Action and utilised by the network of community hub sites.
ACE 2 Zambia
The ACE 2 Zambia project is a scheme run by the Architecture and Civil Engineering department at the University of Bath in partnership with the Wallace Group and Sport in Action.
ACE2Zambia was initiated in 2016 and sees a team of up to six students from the University of Bath travel to Zambia each year to manage various development projects.

Workforce development
The Wallace Group works closely with Sport in Action to develop a sustainable and appropriately qualified workforce, facilitating workshops, courses, and qualifications to build greater capacity and improve opportunities for young Zambians.
Training and education focuses mainly on coaching and coach education, officiating, leadership, and wider sports volunteering.
